Weevils Secure GAC Tournament Bid on Senior Day
The Arkansas-Monticello baseball team took the series over #6 Southern Arkansas University with a win on Senior Day over the weekend.
The Weevils split on opening day, winning by run rule in game one 10-0 in seven innings and dropping game two 7-3. UAM sealed the deal in the series finale with a 4-2 win, also securing their spot in this years’ Great American Conference championship series in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
Reece Reading had an impressive weekend going 5 for 12 with 3 runs scored, while teammate Deshuan Cordova was 5 for 9 with 2 runs scored and a RBI. UAM wraps up there regular season 23-22 overall, and 17-16 in GAC play.
Arkansas-Monticello heads into a the GAC Baseball Tournament on Saturday May 7th, with time and opponent to be announced.
