Several teachers and students participated in a walk-out Tuesday morning with signs protesting the Watson Chapel School District for lack of pay for teachers/staff and the removal of key programs for students.

Jarhea May a special ed teacher who has been with the district since 2016, spoke about her concerns with Deltaplex News.

May went on to say that the district leaders have not responded to their concerns or met with them which is why they orchestrated the walk-out.

Rosalind Robinson is another teacher in the district that was present and she also expressed her concerns.

Both teachers explained that the superintendent has reached out since the walk-out to meet with them about those concerns. Deltaplex News has not received an official statement from the district but will update the story as it unfolds.
