During its meeting Monday night, the Pine Bluff City Council voted to appoint Danny Walker to the Planning Commission.
He will replace Gordon Reese, whose term expired but has remained on the commission until a replacement was named.
Walker is the son of former Pine Bluff City Council Member Thelma Walker and was a candidate for the Ward 1 council seat in the May primary election. He was defeated in a run-off by Council member-elect LaTisha Brunson.
Appearing on the Oldies 1013 morning show Tuesday, Walker was asked what his understanding of the planning commission is and what he will be doing.
Morning show host Greg Horne told Walker that creating an environment encouraging businesses to come to Pine Bluff is important and Walker responded this way.
