UAPB Women Hoops Dawn Thornton Set To Host Another Successful Experience 2.0 Free Camp

2.0 Experience Camp

PINE BLUFF, AR. – The youth in Arkansas will have one more chance this summer to camp with Dawn Thornton and her staff at the “Experience 2.0 Free Basketball camp,” Saturday, August, 5 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., held at the H.O. Clemmons Arena on the campus of the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.

This will be the second consecutive year that Coach Thornton and her staff put on a free camp for the community for boys and girls ages K-12th grade.

“The Pine Bluff community has done a lot for my family and me,” said Coach Brown. “Not only have they embraced me to lead such a wonderful group of young women, but they also come out every Saturday and fill these stands up cheering for wins every week. I’m nothing but thankful and grateful for the support I’ve had, especially in my efforts to impact the lives of this community. I’m excited about giving back to kids and giving them a safe place to have fun, play basketball, and enjoy themselves. We didn’t have this when I was a kid growing up, and I remember the sacrifices my parents made just to make sure I could go to camp.”

“I believe that all kids should have an opportunity to attend basketball camps whether their families can afford it or not. My foundation will provide each participant with tools to become a better player and encourage a deeper respect for the game of basketball. Kids will receive a camp T-shirt, over 1k in giveaways, back-to-school supplies donated from Walmart, as well as lunch provided at the end of camp, and a personal photograph with Coach T.”
