UAPB Track And Field Snowden Claims High Jump; Golden Lions Blaze The Outdoor Opener at TCU

FORT WORTH, Texas –  After a record breaking indoor season, the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff track and field team opened their outdoor season on Friday at the TCU Invitational in Fort Worth, TX.

Caleb Snowden came out on top in the men’s high jump with a distance of 2.15 meters to claim first place honors for UAPB.

In the 400 meter hurdles, Zachariah McGowan placed third with a time of 57.75. Genesis Joseph finished sixth in the 400 meter run and Ross Walrond came in seventh place in the 200 meter run for Top-10 finishes for the Golden Lions.

The team of Mohamed Soumare, Ryan Longmire, Ross Walrond, and Genesis Joseph blazed the 4 X 400 meter relay to finish third place with a time 3:17.21.

Two Lady Lions finished sixth in their lone events. Cheriece Cope ran a time of 58.66 in the 400 meter run and Jalynn Hampton completed the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 14.78 for Top 10 finishes.

UAPB will travel to Starksville for the Bulldogs Relays at Mississippi State on Mar. 23-25.
