Pine Bluff, AR. – The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff softball standout graduate pitcher Sydney Green has been selected for the inaugural 2023 Minority Softball Prospects (MSP) HBCU All-Star game.

Green, a native of Forts Smith, Arkansas, leaves the program as the all-time strikeout leader with a total of 327 strikeouts in three years.  Green finished with a season-high 11 strikeouts against Alcorn St.

“I’m very honored to have been selected to the MSP HBCU all-star game, said Green.” “It seems surreal knowing all my hard work and dedication had paid off for playing the game I love. To be recognized on this level is an honor because it open doors for girls who look like me to strive for greatness. I also want to thank the UAPB coaching staff and MSP for allowing me to showcase my talent.”

The purpose of this game is to provide a platform to top-level talent coming out of Historical Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) and recognize the tremendous work of the coaches who have molded, developed and support these players.

The student-athletes will be recognized at the MSP HBCU All-Star Game Saturday, June 3, where the top 50 HBCU talent in Division 1, Division 2, NAIA, and Junior College will participate. The event will take place at Coolray Field, home of the Gwinnett Stripers, a Triple-A affiliate team of the Atlanta Braves.
