UAPB Softball: Green Throws Shutout In 3-0 Win Over Saint Peter’s at Home

PINE BLUFF, Arkansas – Sydney Green was dealing on Saturday, throwing a two-hit shutout to lead the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Lady Lions past the Saint Peter’s Peacocks 3-0.

Green (2-1) went the distance for UAPB, giving up two hits, walking one and striking out six.

Amari Broughton led the way offensively for the Lady Lions, going 1-for-2 in the ballgame with a walk and two RBI’s. Jazlyn Gomez provided a noteworthy performance as well, going 2-for-3 with an RBI. Samaria Jackson also contributed, going 2-for-2 for UAPB.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The Lady Lions took the lead for good in the first, scoring for the first time in the inning. Broughton drove in two runs for UAPB with a single, that scored Jada Carhee and Zharia Richardson.

The Lady Lions also added a run in the fifth inning to complete their scoring in the ballgame.
