UAPB Softball: Danika Bryant Named SWAC Co-Pitcher of the Week

Oklahoma City, OK.- Sophomore pitcher Danika Bryant, a Chandler, Arizona native, has been named the Southwestern Athletics Conference Co-Pitcher of the Week. The announcement was made by the league on March 4.

Bryant had a successful weekend at the Hosea Bell Red Dirt Classic in Oklahoma City, OK. She plays a crucial role in UAPB’s performance at the top spot in the SWAC Conference in pitching era (2.57).

Bryant pitched a perfect game no-hitter with 11 strikeouts, leading the UAPB Lady Lions to an 11-0 victory over the Oklahoma Panhandle State Aggies at the Hosea Bell Red Dirt Classic. She finished the two-day tournament with 20 strikeouts and two wins. Her performance was the second perfect game thrown in the program’s history.
