UAPB Men Hoops: Milton, Greene and Harris Have Double-Doubles In UAPB’s Win Against Ecclesia

PINE BLUFF, AR — Kylen Milton, Chris Greene, and Brahm Harris all put up a double-double to help lead the UAPB men’s basketball team past the 104-50 at home Saturday at the H.O. Clemmons Arena.

The Golden Lions had five players score in double figures, led by Shuan Doss Jr., who had 24 points and two steals. Orion Virden added 18 points off of the bench and Milton chipped in as well with a double-double with 17 points and 10 assists.

UAPB took advantage of fantastic ball movement in Saturday’s game, piling up 27 assists on 36 made field goals. Milton’s 10 assists led the distribution list for the Golden Lions and Harris also added five assists of his own.

UAPB did a great job disrupting shots in the contest, coming away with six blocks. Ishmael Plet led the way individually for the Golden Lions with two rejections.

How It Happened

After jumping out to a 26-17 advantage, UAPB went on a 20-0 run with 10:15 left in the first half, culminating in a bucket from Milton, to increase its lead to 46-17. The Golden Lions then added six points to that lead by the end of the period and entered halftime with a 55-20 advantage. UAPB relied on its three-point shooting in the period, knocking down 10 shots to account for 30 of its 55 points.

Following intermission, UAPB kept widening that lead, expanding it to 88-44 before going on a 12-0 run, finished off by Zach Reinhart’s three, to grow the lead to 100-44 with 2:51 to go in the contest. The narrowed the margin somewhat before the game was over, but the Golden Lions still cruised the rest of the way for the 104-50 win. UAPB shot well from three-point range in the half, hitting seven shots from deep to score 21 of its 49 points.
