The UAPB Public Safety Department was notified of a campus threat at approximately 7:15 a.m.
today. Since that time, UAPB Public Safety has been coordinating with federal, state and local
authorities to conduct searches of all campus buildings for suspicious items or individuals.

Until the search is complete, the University will remain closed (to the public). Campus business
operations should remain remote until the campus is cleared. Access onto and off campus has been
limited and is being controlled by Campus Police.

We recognize that we have summer school students and several summer programs taking place on
campus. The safety of these students along with our faculty and staff is our top priority.
Arrangements have been made to feed the students in residential facilities. Parents with students in
the summer programs are asked to contact Campus Police at 870-575-8102 for updates or to
schedule student pick up.

Please know that the university will remain closed to the public until the threat has been fully
addressed and the campus is cleared for safety. UAPB Public Safety will continue to update campus
administrators and the campus community via the Campus Bulletin and by RAVE Alerts.

Again, the safety of all students, faculty and staff is our top priority.
