The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) Public Safety and Police Department aided by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, City of Pine Bluff Police Department, Little Rock Police
Department, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation conducted physical and K-9 searches of the premises. The searches did not reveal any suspicious items or individuals. The campus has been
cleared to resume normal academic and business operations.
The UAPBPD has increased its security measures on campus following the threat notifications today. The UAPB administration takes these threats seriously and continues to make the safety and
well-being of students and employees the University’s top priority. Our police department will continue working with local, state, and federal law enforcement to ensure our campus remains open
and safe.
The university is committed to maintaining a safe environment for all members of our community. We want to take this opportunity to remind our community that if you “see something, say
something.” The Public Safety Department will continue to monitor the situation, along with local law enforcement. If you have an emergency contact, UAPBPD at (870) 575-8102 or 911.
Again, the safety of all students, faculty, and staff is our top priority.
