UAPB Golf Wins Alabama St. Spring Invitational

Prattville, AL. – Li Su finished second overall to earn All-Tournament Team and led the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff golf program to the team title, with a score of (742) at the Alabama St. Spring Invitational at the RTJ Golf Trail at Capitol Hill.

This is the second straight tournament the Golden Lions have won since closing the fall season on a high note, capturing the SWAC Fall Invitational.

“It was an awesome week competing in Alabama in another great field…” said UAPB head golf coach Roger Totten. “I’m proud of the guys for earning a tournament win on a very good golf course.  The team played hard and I cannot wait to carry this positive momentum into our next event.”

Lu carded 74 in the opening round at +3 over par, -1 under par (71) on day two, and -2 under par (34) in the final round with a score of (180).

Patrick Mwendapole placed 4th overall, shooting 186, +2 over par (74) on day one, + 4 over par (76) on day two, and even par (36) in the final round.

Angel Perez tied for 9th with a score of 189 (71, 79, 39), and Jamie Moliner tied for 12th with a tournament score of 190 (76, 75, 39).

Isamael Garcia rounded out the top-25, tied for 22nd, shooting 192 (77, 76, 39).

The Golden Lions will compete in the Gulf Coast Collegiate Invitational in Diamondhead, MS., February 26-28.
