UAPB Golf Finished Sixth At The PGA Works Collegiate Championship

Ponte Vedra Beach, FL. – The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff golf team finished in sixth place at the PGA Works Collegiate Championship at the TPC Sawgrass Wednesday evening.

The PWCC Tourney was the first for the Golden Lions, who was selected amongst the best 24 HBCU invited.

Sophomore Joshua McCray finished among the Golden Lions in the top-15 in the field, placing 11th with a three-round total of 233. McCray opened the tournament with an 81 and shot 74 on Tuesday, and returned in the final round to fire a 78 to finish 17-over par.

Freshman Nikolas Pitiris also placed in the top-15 tying 13th after finishing with a 19-over of 235. Pitiris shot a 78 in the opening round, carded a 77 on the second day, and finished in the final round with an 80.

Sophomore Grayson Martin tied for 26th with a three-day sum of 244. Martin posted scores of 83, 78, and 83. Senior Niklas Frimodig tied for 34th in total rounds of 84, 80, and 87 for a final score of 251.

Freshman Justin Lee rounded out the tournament for the Golden Lions, placing 36th shooting 91 in the first round, 83 in the second round, and 80 in the final round with a total score of 254.
