UAPB Football Maurice Lloyd Named SWAC Specialist of the Week
PINE BLUFF, AR. – The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff football return specialist Maurice Lloyd picked his first weekly honors of the 2022 season when he was named the Southwestern Athletics Conference Special Teams Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.
In UAPB’s non-conference win over Lane College, Lloyd was a significant contributor for the Golden Lions during a 48-42 win over the Dragons. He finished the night with four kickoff returns for a total of 187 yards. He returned a kickoff 85 yards for a touchdown at the 14:46 mark of the third quarter extending UAPB’s lead over Lane.
UAPB (1-0) will return to action on Saturday (Sept. 10) when it plays host to North American (0-1) in a 6 p.m. contest at Simmons Bank Field. The game will be streamed on the UAPB Sports Network or listen live on 99.3 The Beat.
