UAPB Football: Hagens Runs In Game-Winning Touchdown To Lead Golden Lions 4th Quarter Comeback Over Texas Southern 35-34

HOUSTON, Texas — The Golden Lions put together a six-play, 46-yard drive, culminating in a five-yard rushing touchdown from with 1:46 remaining in the ballgame to give the Golden Lions a 35-34 win over Texas Southern on Wednesday afternoon at Shell Energy Stadium.

Michael Jamerson led all Golden Lions rushers with 113 yards in the contest, picking up 11.3 yards per carry. Hagens also added 49 yards and two touchdowns on the ground, averaging 4.5 yards per carry.

Grant Ewell Jr. showed out for the Golden Lions defense with 15 tackles, 2.0 TFL, one forced fumble, and one recovered fumble. Khalil Arnold played a significant role, collecting six tackles and one recovered fumble, followed by Rico Dozier with 10 tackles.

The Golden Lions won the turnover battle in Wednesday’s game, forcing two turnovers while coughing the ball up one time.

UAPB’s defense held up against Texas Southern’s offense, giving up 337 total yards.
