UAPB Baseball Announces 2022 Schedule
The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff baseball program has announced its schedule for the upcoming 2022 season.
The 2022 slate returns another loaded schedule to a full 56 games and includes 28 contests at the Torii Hunter Baseball Complex.
The Golden Lions will open the season for the fifth consecutive year in the MLB Andre Dawson Classic held in New Orleans, LA, February 18-20 against New Orleans, Prairie View A&M, and Grambling St.
The Golden Lions then will travel Tues., February 22, to Starkville, MS. to take on #3 Mississippi State and Arkansas St. (Feb. 25-27) in Jonesboro, AR. in a three-game series.
UAPB will open with a 15-game homestand starting with a home-and-home series with Stephen F. Austin Tues. March 1, and a three-game series against Mississippi Valley St. (March 4-6), before playing the first-ever matchup against Arkansas Baptist, Tues. March 8.
The Golden Lions will host LeMoyne-Owens College Wed., March 9, and Jackson St. in a three-game series beginning March 11-13.
UAPB will play Eastern Illinois at home in a two-game series before opening up conference play at home against Southern U. March. 18-20, rounding out with Tarleton St. Tues., March 22.
UAPB will hit the road for conference play against Texas Southern (March 25-27) in a three-game series before traveling to Tulsa, OK. Tues., March 29 to take on Oral Roberts.
UAPB’s additional conference home weekends consist of series against Prairie View A&M (April 1-3), Alcorn St. (April15-17), Texas Southern (April 29- May 1), and Grambling St. (May 19-21), and the remaining home non-conference matchup will be against Little Rock Tue., (April 5).
The Golden Lions conference road games also include weekends at Grambling St. (April 8-10), Prairie View A&M (April 22-24), Southern U. (May 6-8), and Alcorn St. (May 13-15). UAPB non-conference road matches will be against Arkansas (April 12-13), Stephen F. Austin (April 20), Prairie View A&M (April 22-24), Memphis (April 27), Little Rock (May 3) Southern U. (May 6-8), Alcorn St. (May 13-15).
The SWAC Baseball Championship will be held May 24-29 at Regions Field in Birmingham, AL. The 2022 NCAA Championship begin with regional play on June 3. The College World Series is slated for June 17-26/27 at TD Ameritrade Park Omaha.
