UAPB Athletics: TJ Cleveland Named Director of Sports Medicine | Head Athletic Trainer

PINE BLUFF, AR.- The University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff Vice Chancellor for Intercollegiate Athletics Chris Robinson announced Monday morning that TJ Cleveland has been named Director of Sports Medicine | Head Athletic Trainer. Cleveland will be responsible for overseeing the prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletics injuries from 12 varsity sports.

“We are excited about the addition of TJ Cleveland to our athletics program,” Robinson said. “TJ brings an abundance of athletic training experience to our department. He will play an integral role in the continued success of our student-athletes.”

Cleveland comes to the “Bluff” after serving as the head Athletic Trainer at Victoria East High in Texas. Prior to returning to his hometown, Cleveland served on staff as a Graduate Assistant Trainer at UT-San Antonio and Cisco Junior College.

“I’m extremely honored to be joining the UAPB Athletics Department,” said Cleveland. “One of my favorite parts of being an Athletic Trainer is getting to build with student-athletes, coaches, and staff.”

Cleveland earned a bachelor’s in Exercise Science and Human Performance from McMurry University in Abilene, TX., and a master’s in Athletic Training from Abilene Christian University.
