Could Black Sabbath be the next band to get a biopic?

As guitarist Tony Iommi tells SPIN, “there was talk” of putting together a film based on the metal pioneers. However, he adds those discussions have since halted due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“It sort of went out the window when all this thing started,” Iommi says, referring to the pandemic. “But we were talking about it probably 18 months ago, about doing the biopic. I haven’t heard much else.”

While a Sabbath film may still be hypothetical at this point, you can look forward to the upcoming Ozzy Osbourne biopic. That movie will focus on his relationship with his wife and manager, Sharon Osbourne.

If you don’t have any interest in any Black Sabbath-related biopics and just want to listen to the music, you can check out the newly released deluxe versions of the band’s ’80s Ronnie James Dio-fronted albums, Heaven and Hell and Mob Rules.
