Anthrax and Motörhead have both announced celebrations in honor of upcoming 40th anniversary milestones.

The NYC thrashers officially turn 40 this summer — the band was founded on July 18, 1981. Leading up to the big anniversary, Anthrax will release a series of video testimonials with the band members speaking in-depth about each album, in chronological order.

The video series, which will run from May 3 to July 12, will also include guests such as Guns N’ RosesSlash, Metallica‘s Robert Trujillo, Slipknot‘s Corey Taylor, and Rob Zombie sharing their favorite Anthrax memories.

Following the final clip, Anthrax will perform a livestream concert of deep cuts on July 16. Ticket info will be announced shortly.

Meanwhile, Motörhead’s classic 1981 live album No Sleep ‘Til Hammersmith is being reissued in honor of its 40th anniversary. The expanded collection, which features remastered audio of the original record, as well as bonus tracks and previously unreleased live recordings, will arrive June 25.
