UAPB Great Terron Armstead Earns Place in New Orleans Saints Hall of Fame

NEW ORLEANS, LA — Former University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff standout and NFL All-Pro offensive tackle Terron Armstead has received one of the highest honors in franchise history, as he was selected for induction into the New Orleans Saints Hall of Fame as part of the Class of 2026. Armstead will be inducted alongside former Saints running back Mark Ingram, the organization announced this week.
For Armstead, the recognition is another milestone in a football journey that began at UAPB and blossomed into a stellar NFL career. The Saints selected the athletic offensive lineman in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft following an outstanding collegiate career with the Golden Lions.
Over nine seasons in New Orleans, Armstead established himself as one of the NFL’s premier left tackles. Known for his combination of speed, strength, and technique, he became a cornerstone of the Saints’ offensive line and played a vital role in protecting future Hall of Fame quarterback Drew Brees during some of the franchise’s most successful seasons. Armstead earned three consecutive Pro Bowl selections from 2018-20 and received All-Pro recognition during his tenure with the Saints.
His rise from a Southwestern Athletic Conference standout to one of the league’s elite offensive linemen remains one of the great success stories in UAPB football history. Armstead earned multiple First-Team All-SWAC honors while helping put the Golden Lions program on the national map before showcasing his remarkable athleticism at the NFL Scouting Combine.
The Saints Hall of Fame selection recognizes not only Armstead’s on-field excellence but also his impact on the organization and the New Orleans community. Saints Hall of Fame inductees are chosen for their outstanding contributions to the franchise and their lasting legacy within the organization.
Armstead’s selection continues a remarkable run of honors since retiring from professional football. Earlier in his post-playing career, he was also recognized with induction into the Senior Bowl Hall of Fame, further cementing his place among football’s elite.
For UAPB fans, Armstead’s induction serves as another reminder of the university’s ability to develop NFL-caliber talent. His journey from Pine Bluff to becoming one of the most respected offensive linemen of his generation stands as an inspiration for current and future Golden Lions.
When the induction ceremony takes place later this year, Armstead will officially join an exclusive group of Saints legends whose contributions helped shape the history of one of the NFL’s most passionate franchises. For the former Golden Lion, it is a well-deserved honor that reflects years of excellence, leadership, and dedication to the game.
