Sheridan attorney Margaret Dobson will assume the duties of Seventh Judicial District Judge after she was appointed to the position by Governor Sanders.

Dobson will replace Circuit Judge Chris Williams who resigned following an investigation by the Arkansas Judicial Discipline and Disability Commission. The Commission has not released the specific reasons for the investigation.

Dobson is President of the Arkansas Bar Association, has a private practice in Sheridan and is the City Attorney for Redfield.

Because of the judicial appointment, she will have to give up her private practice, which will be taken over by attorney Lauren Manatt. Dobson will serve until Dec. 31, 2026 and will not be eligible to run for re-election.
