UPDATE:
Saline County Sheriff Rodney Wright confirms that the murder suspect, Wuanya Smith, has been apprehended and is now in custody after being located in the Alexander area of Pulaski County.
ORIGINAL STORY:
The Saline County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that a suspect wanted for capital murder in Nebraska escaped custody Sunday morning.
Wuanya Smith is 5-foot-8 and 145 pounds, and is considered armed and dangerous. He has a tattoo that says “Death Before Dishonor” on his neck.
He escaped from the Saline County Detention Center between 10 am and 11 am Sunday morning.
It is believed he has wounds from climbing through barbed wire fencing during his escape. He was last seen with no shirt on, white pants with a black stripe, and white tennis shoes. He was last see heading north from the detention facility.
Multiple law enforcement agencies to include the Saline County Sheriff’s Office, Benton Police Department, Bryant Police Department, Arkansas State Police, and Arkansas Department of Corrections are actively searching for him.
