The Pine Bluff Police Department has made an arrest following the murder of a 17-year-old male on May 18, 2023.
21-year-old Vincent Tyler, Jr. was arrested Saturday on a charge of Capital Murder, Discharging a Firearm from Vehicle, Domestic Battery, and two outstanding warrants.
On May 18, 2023, at approximately 2330 hours, Pine Bluff Officers responded to the area of 23rd Avenue and Elm Street, in reference to a vehicle sitting in the roadway.
Officers arrived on scene and located a black male, later identified as Mr. John Payne, slumped over in the driver’s seat of a pickup truck.
Mr. Payne sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced deceased at the scene by Jefferson County Coroner Chad Kelley.
