A $5,000 bond was set Thursday for a Pine Bluff man accused of causing injuries to another man during an altercation Monday.

Jefferson County District Judge Kim Bridgforth set the bond after ruling prosecutors have probable cause to charge Michael Spears, 47, with second-degree domestic battery.

During the court hearing, Deputy Prosecutor Mircha King explained what Spears is accused of doing.

King said officers were sent back to the house the next day because Spears had returned to the property and he was arrested for criminal trespass.

Spears was ordered to have no contact with the victim until the case is settled and told to come back to court on April 8.
