With campaign season for local offices in full swing, Pine Bluff City Council Member Joni Alexander on Wednesday is asking that a regulation dealing with campaign signs be changed.

Appearing on the Oldies 101.3 morning show, Alexander said she is working with Council Member Bruce Lockett, who is chairman of the Council’s Development and Planning Committee on the change.

Alexander also discussed legislation adopted by the City Council when they met Monday, as well as legislation that was pulled by sponsors.

That included a resolution sponsored by Council Member Ivan Whitfield which provided that city employees making less than $30,000 annually receive raises to reach the $30,000 mark.

Also pulled was a resolution sponsored by Whitfield and Council Member Steven Shaner that would set up a free “dump day” so that city residents could get rid of excess trash and the like. Alexander said that was pulled for more information including how much Waste Management would charge the city for dumpsters to put at the free dump site location.
