Pine Bluff Police Chief Denise Richardson and Central Moloney CEO Chris Hart appeared on the Oldies 1013 morning show Tuesday to make a major announcement that will benefit the department both now and in the future.
Morning show host Greg Horne asked Richardson what was going on and Richardson responded this way.
Hart then spoke.
Morning show host Greg Horne said officers are not paid enough considering they put themselves in the line of fire.
Horne asked Richardson what the process is going to be to get the money to the officers and she said this.
Richardson said the foundation will provide an avenue for other individuals and groups who want to make a donation to the department that does not involve any politics or waste.
She said at least $76,000 of the money will go directly to the officers but would not commit to a specific amount. The only criteria will be that they are sworn officers with the department.
