Resolutions naming members of the Tiny House and Container House Taskforce and the Event Review Taskforce were approved by the Pine Bluff City Council Monday but not without some dissent.

As he has for weeks, Council Member Steven Mays opposed the tiny house and container house taskforce, complaining that they would all end up in Ward 4, which he represents.

While she did not vote no, Council Member Lanette Frazier abstained from a vote on the event review taskforce because of objections to including Lloyd Franklin Jr., on that taskforce as a civilian member.

Both resolutions were sponsored by Council Member Bruce Lockett, who talked about them with Deltaplex News.

In addition to representatives of the city, (Inspection, Zoning, Planning Commission, City Attorney, Fire Department and City Council), the Tiny Houses and Container Houses Taskforce contains contractors, real estate agents, Habitat for Humanity and private citizens.

The Event Center Review Taskforce contains most of the same city office representatives but adds the police department to the fire department.

Also approved were resolutions adopting draft watershed plans and environmental assessments for the Bayou Bartholomew and Caney Creek, Caney Bayou Watershed.
