1938-2024
Shelby Jean (Moore) Johnson, 85, of Cabot, passed from this life on Wednesday, February 28, 2024 following a lengthy illness.
Shelby Jean was born on August 11, 1938 in Yorktown, Arkansas. She graduated from Grady High School in 1956, and married the love of her life in 1959. She will forever be remembered for selfless devotion to her family, ensuring the house was in order, the children were cared for, and the cornbread (and everything else she cooked) was just right. She was a faithful servant to our Lord, and a long-time member of the church of Christ wherever the Air Force took them.
Shelby Jean is proceeded in death by her parents, Earl and Hollie (Bradshaw) Moore; sister Betty Nealey; brother-in-law Joe Nealey; and sister-in-law Anita (Raley) Moore.
She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Larry Johnson; daughter Deborah Johnson; son John (Susan); and grandson Matthew. She is also survived by her older brother Malvin Ray Moore and her baby sister Cathie (Lewis) Ellis.
The funeral will be at the Griffin Funeral Service Chapel in Star City on Saturday, March 2, 2024. Visitation is at 2 PM, with the service at 3 PM. Shelby Jean will be laid to rest at Oak Grove Cemetery in Yorktown, Arkansas.
