1934-2024
Robert “Bob” Homer Rich, 90 of Star City, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff. He was born February 25, 1934 in Jennie, AR to the late Homer Ray and Henrietta Gay Rich. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Star City and was a veteran for the United States Army, serving in the Korean War as a sergeant. Bob was retired from the State of Arkansas as an Investigator for the Alcohol Beverage Control and as a long-time Arkansas State Trooper. He was a 50-year member of Branchville Lodge #256, long-time member of the Star City Fire Department, he loved to garden, enjoyed watching the Razorbacks and Dallas Cowboys, and liked to attend Lady Dog basketball games.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jesse Ray Rich.
Survivors include his wife, Willene Frances Scott Rich of Star City; son, David (Vanesa) Rich of Star City; 2 grandchildren, TJ (Brittany) Magness and Morgan (JT) Smith; and 5 great-grandchildren, Trent Magness, Jaci Magness, Tristan Smith, Levi Smith, and Hayden Smith.
Funeral services are 1:00PM Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Griffin Funeral Chapel in Star City with Bro. BJ Duvall officiating. Visitation is 6:00-8:00PM Friday, April 26, 2024 at the funeral home. Burial at Drake Cemetery. Pallbearers are Matt Henley, TJ Magness, Robert Wilson Floyd, Johnny McGraw, Eddie Beard, Greg White, James West, and Bobby Beard. Honorary pallbearers are Former Arkansas State Troopers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: Amy’s Animal Rescue, PO Box 184, Star City, AR 71667.
