1934-2024

Pauline Floyd Bottom, 89, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on April 27, 2024.

Born in Monroe, Louisiana on September 3, 1934, Pauline was a daughter of William Alvin Ford, Sr. and Lucy Mae Smith Ford. She was raised in Monroe and graduated from Ouachita Parish High School. In 1953, she married Griffin Theodore Floyd with whom she shared an adventurous life until his passing in 1978. Pauline was an accountant for her husband’s business, G. T. Floyd Ceramic Tile, and she was able to travel many parts of America as they grew the business. She was a pianist for their church and relished in hosting improvised musical gatherings at their home for their extended family. Griffin and Pauline moved their family to Pine Bluff in 1965 and joined First Baptist Church. Pauline was a talented seamstress who enjoyed making her daughters all the latest fashion designs as they were growing up. Pauline was known to oftentimes read a book a day, and she enjoyed traveling, gardening, and baking for her family and friends. Her faith in the Lord was strong. Her gentle presence was powerful, and her absence is profound.

Mrs. Bottom was preceded in death by her parents, William and Lucy Mae Ford; her first husband, Griffin Floyd; her second husband, Joe Bottom; her siblings, Katherine Ford, Carolyn Walters, and Billy Ford; and her son-in-law, Tuck McDonald.

Pauline is survived by her daughters, Jill Green (Mark) and Julie McDonald; three grandchildren, Cory McDonald (Samantha), Meredith McDonald Little (Stan), and Trevor Green; and a great-grandson, Griffin Little.
