Margaret Sue “Mama Tid” Tidwell, age 83 of Fordyce died Saturday, March 30, 2024 at her home. She was born September 12, 1940 in Freeport, TX. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church in Fordyce. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jewell Archer and Hannah Belle Oakley Archer; husband, Edward Lee Tidwell; sister, Ann Campbell; brother-in-law, Wayne Campbell; grandson, Jet Tidwell; and granddaughter, Whitney Danyale Tidwell.
She is survived by three sons, Johnny (Nastassia) Tidwell of Lawton, OK, Eddy (Mary) Tidwell of Fordyce, Tom Tidwell of Camden; one daughter, Susan (David) Sisson of Fordyce; one brother, Derwood (Karen) Archer of Fordyce; ten grandchildren, Janelle Tidwell, John Tidwell, Bailey Tidwell, Jaden Tidwell, Hannah (Marcos) Olvera, Meghan (Bryson) Baggett, Madeline (James Ryan) Reed, MariGrace (Drake) Hill, Tommy (Kenley) Tidwell, and Tori Tidwell; five great grandchildren, Lila Olvera, Eleanor Jewell Olvera, Grayson Baggett, Watson Tidwell, and Whittlyn Tidwell.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church food pantry. Visitation will be 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Sunday at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Graveside services will be 10:00 am Monday at McDonald Cemetery with Rev. Michael Ivy and Rev. Scott Smith officiating.
