John Derrell Brown, 80 of Fordyce died Wednesday April 10, 2024 at the Arkansas Heart Hospital in Little Rock. Born June 4, 1943 in Dallas County, AR he was a son of the late John Henry Brown and Dorothy Corrine Shaddock Brown.
John served in the Arkansas National Guard, was a retired logger, and a member of Zion Baptist Church.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Jerry Brown, Gary Brown, Danny Brown; three sisters, Dorothy Jones, Diane Witham, and Laverne Richardson; and a nephew, Joe Brown.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ginger Brown of Fordyce; two wonderful sons, Greg Brown and his wife, Ranee of Holly Springs, Scott Brown of Fordyce; a brother, Larry Brown of Fordyce; two grandchildren whom he adored, Maci and Madi Brown; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Benton Funeral Home in Fordyce. Funeral services will follow Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Benton Funeral home. Burial will be at Liberty Cemetery.
