Janice Jacobs, age 88 of McGehee, Arkansas, formerly of Harmony Grove, Arkansas, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday April 3, 2024 at the McGehee Hospital. She was born March 13, 1936 in Camden, Arkansas to the late Hartwell and Ester Mae Smith.
Janice was a retired Home Economics teacher at the McGehee High School for 30 years. She was also a member of the McGehee First Methodist Church. She enjoyed sewing, playing bridge, flower gardening, cooking, and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents she also was preceded in death by her sister Ada Lee Russell of Harmony Grove. Janice is survived by her husband Wesley V Jacobs with 67 years of marriage. Also surviving are her three daughters Sherri Lynn Underwoood of Hernando, MS, Suzanne Roberts of Monticello AR, Beth Rippy of Calmer, AR. She is survived by 6 grandsons Tyler, Daniel, and Luke Underwood, Jacob and Grant Roberts, and Wesley Kleiser, 2 great grandchildren Aya Underwood and Everett Kleiser.
A visitation will be held Friday, April 5, 2024, from 5-7 pm at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Chapel in McGehee, Arkansas. A Graveside Service will be held Saturday, April 6, 2024, at 1:00pm at the Shady Grove Cemetery, in Glendale, Arkansas. Rev. Kay Carpenter will be officiating.
