Henry A. Reding, 86
1937-2024

Henry Alfred Reding Jr, 86, of Tillar, AR passed away on February 27, 2024.  A graveside service will be held at 2:30 pm, Saturday, March 2, 2024, at Jefferson Cemetery, 554 AR-138, Tillar, AR.  Please dress casual.

Henry is survived by his children, Keith (Cindy) Reding and Kim (Keith) Bradshaw; three grandchildren, India (Nick) Gebel, Jacob (Rachel) Bradshaw, and Kristi Brashaw; and, one great-granddaughter, Porter Bradshaw.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Glenda Reding, of 58 years.  He was the last surviving sibling of 9 brothers and sisters.

He was born on August 17, 1937, in Sulphur Rock, AR.  After graduation from Sulphur Rock High School, Henry earned a degree in math from Arkansas Teacher College in Batesville, AR.  Following graduation, he taught and coached basketball at Tillar High School, where he met his wife, Glenda.  He then earned a Master's degree in physical education and taught at Dumas High School until he retired at the age of 55.

Following retirement, Henry built his own house and moved with Glenda to Sulphur Rock, AR. Eventually, both moved back to the Dumas, AR area where he resided until his death.

Henry was a beloved math teacher and baseball coach in the Dumas School District where he taught for more than 30 years.  His teaching had a tremendous impact on his students.  He was often told that he was their favorite teacher and was such a positive force and influence on their lives.  Now he has gone up to the chalkboard for the last time.  He may now rest in peace, erase and be seated.
