Elbert Ray “Gyp” Davis, 63
1960-2024

Elbert "GYP" Davis, born on May 27, 1960, departed on April 7, 2024. He passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion. Elbert's journey began in Pickens, Arkansas, where he spent his formative years.

He graduated from Dumas High School and embraced his faith in Christ at an early age, attending First Baptist Pickens. Throughout his life, Elbert exhibited unwavering dedication and commitment. For 23 years, he served as a faithful employee for the city of Dumas, earning the respect and admiration of all who knew him.

Elbert is reunited in eternal peace with his beloved mother, Universie Williams Davis, and father, Willie Davis Sr. He is also preceded in death by his brothers Billy Davis, Willie Davis Jr., and Ronald Davis.

He leaves behind a cherished legacy in his three sons: Omar (Kazmira) Davis of White Hall, AR; Michael Everett of Fort Worth, TX; and Jordan Kinney of Dumas, AR. Two daughters Ashia Davis of Alexander, AR, and Za'Raebreonna Davis of Benton, AR. Elbert's memory will be cherished by his siblings: Lee Davis of Dumas, AR; Jerome (Clarice) Davis of Albarado, TX; Mary Dobbs-Thompson of Dumas, AR; Gloria Davis of White Hall, AR; and Teletha (Stephon) Leonard of Little Rock, AR. He will also be fondly remembered by his four grandchildren: Khloe, Kylie, Omar Jr., and Kori Davis, all of White Hall, AR, as well as a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Elbert "GYP" Davis touched the lives of many with his kindness, generosity, and unwavering personality. While he may no longer be with us in person, his spirit will live on forever in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.
