Daniel Mark Chambliss, 67
1956-2024

Daniel Mark Chambliss, age 67, died February 23, 2024 in Pencil Bluff, Arkansas after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Mark was born in Fort Worth, Texas on November 12, 1956 to Daniel Lewis Chambliss and Martha Ann White Chambliss. He grew up in Pine Bluff on the family farm where he loved hunting and fishing and playing with his brother and cousins and friends along Bayou Bartholomew. Mark attended Trinity Lutheran School, Lakeside Grammar and Dial Junior High School, graduating from Pine Bluff High School in 1975. He was very active in sports growing up. From there he went on to University of Arkansas at Fayetteville where he graduated in 1980 with a BSA in Agronomy (AGRN).

Mark then returned to Pine Bluff to farm the family farm for the next 38 years until his retirement in 2018. Mark was an avid hunter and fisherman and was particularly fond of turkey hunting. He was an excellent bowman and archer and became the Longbow state champion in Arkansas for two years.

Mark was a friend to all, kindhearted and honest and a joy to be around and will be greatly missed.

In September 2016 he married Patricia Lynn Bryant and after his retirement they spent many hours in Ouachita mountains, hiking and fishing on the lake and area rivers, loving every minute.

Survivors include his wife, Lynn Bryant of Mount Ida, Arkansas; his father, Dan Chambliss (Barbara) of Pine Bluff; brother, Lewis Chambliss (Theresa) of Mayflower, Arkansas; step-daughters, Mary “Ginny” Luffman and husband Scott; grandsons, Beau and Jack Luffman, of Bella Vista, Arkansas and step-daughter, Leslie Anne Bryant of Fayetteville.
