It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Barbara Jean Nance, 74, of Sheridan, AR. Barbara passed away April 9,2024. She was born on April 4th 1950, in Tampa, Florida, to William and Zena Sylvester.
Barbara “Nana” was the baby of eleven children. Barbara was a passionate licensed practical nurse at the McLellan Memorial Hospital for 20 years. Her passion was working in her yard and tending to her flowers/plants, and watching them grow. She also enjoyed thrifting, and most of all spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was proceeded in death by her husband, Doy Nance, both parents, and siblings: Pete Brooks, Irene Brooks, Elsie Brooks, Billy Sylvester, Charlie Sylvester, Bobby Sylvester, Conrad Sylvester, Jerry Sylvester, Catherine Sylvester, and Jackie Sylvester. Along with grandsons; Cody Cason and Bryton Cason.
She is survived by her sons; Danny Cason (Tonia), Chad Cason, Shayne Cason and daughter-in-law Shirley Hobbs, grandchildren; Aaron Cason, Samantha Cason, Cheyanne Cason, Preston Cason, Marlayna Cason, Rachel Cason, Madison Cason, Guy Cason, Jacob Cason, Cassidy Cason, Kaley Goodwin, Shannon Fout and Josh Hargis. Along with thirteen great-grandchildren.
Barbara will be remembered for her kind and gentle nature, her love of life, and her generous heart. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 at 9:30 am, at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home in Sheridan, Arkansas.
