Suspect named in Monday double shooting that results in 1 dead

The Pine Bluff Police Detectives have identified 29-year-old Matthew Alan Ferry as the suspect in this homicide. Ferry is about 5′ 10″ tall and has brown eyes. He was last known to live in the 2000 block of W. 5th in Pine Bluff. He is pictured here and was last seen driving the dark red Dodge Charger in this photo.

Original story

On September 25, 2023, just before 6:30 PM, Officers of the Pine Bluff Police Department responded to 202 Griderfield Ladd Rd. for a reported shooting. On arrival the officers found a female with an apparent gunshot wound lying in the doorway of the residence. A male with apparent gunshot wounds was also located just inside of the residence. The male was transported from the scene by EASi ambulance service. His condition is unknown as of the time of this release. The female was pronounced dead at the scene by Deputy Coroner Eric Belcher.

The motive of this homicide is still under investigation. There is no suspect information to release at this time. The identity of the homicide victim will not be released until next of kin is located and notified.
