Mayor Shirley Washington appeared on Oldies 1013 and spoke about early voting

Early voting to extend the five-eights cent sales tax, commonly called the Go Forward sales tax and the three-eights cent tax for public safety began Tuesday and will end on Monday. Nov. 13.

On Tuesday, about 400 people voted early, more than early voted when the tax was first considered in May. Mayor Shirley Washington appeared on Oldies 1013 Thursday and was asked about that.

Just over 400 votes were cast Wednesday, bringing the two-day total to over 900.

Washington said Council member LaTisha Brunson was in Bentonville and saw first hand what the Walton Foundation is doing there. “They have three cities on their list and Pine Bluff is one of them,” she said.
