A Malvern man was killed in a two-vehicle accident on Malvern Ave. and the MLK Expressway in Hot Springs Saturday morning.
According to a preliminary report, Dakota Shawn Dillon, 19, was westbound at a high rate of speed fleeing from law enforcement when the 2023 Suzuki he was operating failed to stop at the red light and struck the drivers side of a 2020 Volvo that was traveling southbound from the exit ramp of U.S. Highway 90 onto U.S. Highway 270.
Dillon was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Volvo was not injured.
The accident was reported at 10:04 a.m., and the death was the 544th so far this year on the state’s highways.
