University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff officials say there is no threat to campus or the surrounding community ahead of a full-scale active shooter training exercise scheduled for Tuesday morning.
According to the university, the training exercise will begin at 10 a.m. and is expected to continue for approximately two hours as part of ongoing emergency preparedness efforts.
The drill will involve multiple local and regional law enforcement and emergency response agencies and will be centered around the Harold Complex and Kountz-Kyle Hall on the UAPB campus.
University officials said some nearby streets may be temporarily closed during the exercise, but normal campus operations are expected to continue throughout the training.
UAPB officials encouraged students, employees and community members to be aware of the increased emergency response activity in the area during the scheduled exercise.
