The City of Sheridan has announced that the Sheridan Recreation Center building and pool will remain closed through the weekend while city crews replace the facility’s sewer lift station pump.

According to the city, the pump serves only the Recreation Center building and pool.

Officials said the temporary closure is being made out of an abundance of caution to allow repairs to be completed and the system to be fully restored.

The closure is intended to help ensure the sewer system continues operating safely and to prevent the possibility of a sanitary sewer overflow during the replacement process.

Athletic fields, the Playground, Pickleball courts, and Tennis courts at the recreation complex will remain open and are not affected by the repairs.

City officials said they currently anticipate reopening the Recreation Center building and pool on Monday, provided repairs are completed as scheduled.

However, due to unforeseen operational difficulties, that timeline could change if additional work is needed.

The City of Sheridan thanked residents for their patience and said additional updates will be provided if the anticipated reopening date changes.
