SEARK College Announces Leadership Promotions and New Appointments Amid Restructuring

Southeast Arkansas College announced a series of leadership appointments Friday, promoting four employees to expanded roles and adding a new recruiter and advisor as the college continues restructuring several academic and student services positions.

Jennifer Colvin, Ed.D., has been named dean of student services and professional development after previously serving as dean of science and humanities. A native of Summerfield, Louisiana, Colvin holds degrees from Louisiana State University, the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and Arkansas State University. She has also served in leadership roles with several community organizations, including the Boys & Girls Clubs of America, What’s Next Pine Bluff, Fletcher Education Solutions and TOPPS, and serves on the board of directors for the Port City Blues Society.

Keaundra James has been promoted to registrar and director of admissions after previously serving as assistant registrar and coordinator of admissions. A native of Gadsden, Alabama, James has worked in enrollment services and student support at the college.

Donna Hunnicutt, Ed.D., has been appointed vice president of instruction and student success, expanding her responsibilities after serving as vice president of instruction since 2024. In addition to overseeing academic affairs, accreditation, assessment and institutional effectiveness, Hunnicutt will now lead the college’s Student Success division, bringing academic instruction and student support services under one administrative area to strengthen student retention, persistence and completion efforts.

The college also announced the addition of Pine Bluff native Keith Savage as recruiter and advisor. Savage brings 23 years of client services experience with Xerox, along with three decades of involvement in the local arts and entertainment community. His responsibilities will include student recruitment, enrollment outreach and assisting prospective students through the admissions process.

Denise Zeiler, Ph.D., was promoted from chair of science and humanities to dean of science and humanities. Zeiler joined SEARK as an adjunct instructor before becoming a full-time faculty member and later department chair. In addition to her academic career, she has more than 35 years of experience in the performing arts and is a screenwriter, editor and reader and judge for the Austin Film Festival.
