Just hours after thousands packed downtown Pine Bluff to celebrate Juneteenth, word of a homicide investigation is being reported. Pine Bluff police were called to an apartment complex on Barraque, responding to reports of an unresponsive male just before 4 p.m. on Saturday afternoon. When they arrived on the scene that found a male with an apparent gunshot wound to the chest.  EASi ambulance service arrived and transported the male to Jefferson Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead a short time after arrival. The deceased male’s name will be released after his family has been located and notified. The circumstances leading to his death are under investigation at this time. This is the third homicide this month, following a murder on 2nd and Main on June 6th. PBPD are still searching for Jimmy Ruff for that homicide. The other homicide this month last weekend, when Tyrondrick Dobbs was gunned down in the yard of a home on West 23rd Avenue. Antonio Cole was arrested for that homicide and had his first court appearance on Wednesday and was denied bond.
Saturday’s homicide investigation is in the early stages and the circumstances leading up to this death are still being determined.
