A late-night shooting in Pine Bluff left a 31-year-old man dead on Monday, prompting a homicide investigation.

The Pine Bluff Police Department responded to reports of a shooting at 1900 W. 30th Ave. shortly after 11:00 p.m. on July 27, 2026. Upon arrival, police located 31-year-old Anthony “TJ” Walker in the backyard of the residence suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Walker was unresponsive and was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene by a deputy with the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office.

Authorities stated that the homicide investigation remains in its early stages. Detectives worked through the night to process the scene, gather evidence, and determine the circumstances leading up to the fatal shooting. As of early Tuesday morning, police have not released information regarding potential suspects or a motive.
