Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich is among a variety of artists who are supporting Global Citizen’s newly launched Recovery Plan for the World campaign in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The year-long initiative has five goals: “end COVID-19 for all,” “end the hunger crisis,” “resume learning everywhere,” “protect the planet” and “advance equity for all.”

Other artists and celebrities supporting Recovery Plan for the World include Coldplay, Hugh Jackman, Billie Eilish, H.E.R., Idris and Sabrina Elba, Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Rachel Brosnahan and Usher. Jill and Olivia Vedder, the wife and daughter of Pearl Jam‘s Eddie Vedder, respectively, are also taking part.

Global Citizen will be staging a number of events as part of Recovery Plan for the World, including a broadcast special airing in May and a global concert in September. The exact details and lineups for those events have yet to be announced.
