A Jefferson County woman was killed in a one-vehicle accident near Tucker Sunday.
According to a preliminary report, Joy Lynn Binns, 66, of Sherill was northbound on Highway 15 at State Farm Road when the 2021 Toyota Highlander she was driving collided with a tree and a gate. She was taken to Jefferson Regional Hospital where she was pronounced dead at 4:40 p.m.
The accident was reported at 3 p.m. and the death was the 536th so far this year on the state’s highways.
