Jefferson County Sheriff Lafayette Woods Jr. sent out two emails to members of the Jefferson County Quorum Court on Thursday night citing issues with being able to properly secure the county jail, in addition to issues with food for the jail.

In the first letter Woods Jr. states that he sent over information for the Quorum Court members to see and to consider appropriations, but says County Judge Gerald Robinson’s Legislative Assistant told him that Robinson had ordered the appropriations to not be included in the agenda for September’s meeting.

Woods Jr. closes the letter by asking for an emergency meeting.
