According to the Arkansas Department of Corrections, Calvin Adams, 49, escaped the East Arkansas Regional Unit in Brickeys overnight Monday. Adams was confirmed to be gone after a unit-wide count. No other information about his escape has been released at this time.
This is not the first time Adams has escaped. On May 29, 2009, Adams and another inmate walked out of the Cummins Unit wearing guard uniforms and drove away in a car that was left for them. They were arrested in New York state four days later.
He is serving a life sentence without parole for capital murder in 1995 in the kidnapping and shooting death of a man. Adams is described as weighing 180 pounds. He has brown eyes and brown hair. If you have information of his whereabouts, please contact your local law enforcement.
