Thursday marked the 80th anniversary of the landing by American troops on the beaches at Normandy in France, beginning the battle that resulted in the defeat of Nazi Germany in World War II.
A ceremony was held in France to honor that event, and the soldiers who died during the battle. President Joe Biden joined the President of France, military and diplomatic officials from both countries and veterans of World War II at the ceremony.
Fourth District Congressman Bruce Westerman talked about that event when he appeared on the Oldies 013 Morning Show.
On another subject, Westerman was asked about legislation he sponsored that changed the name of the post office at Kingsland to honor Johnny Cash.
